Hi, everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the start of their weekend!
Because of wedding preparations, the fact that is has been raining a lot, and with Chris working a lot as well too, we haven’t had time to go up to the pond to go fishing lately. It has almost been a month since we have been up there. The fishing is still just as bad as it was on the last trip, but beyond the pond, the wildlife is still thriving. I invite you to take a look at my newest batch of pictures. If you enjoyed them, please let me know in my comments below and please share my post so other people can enjoy them too. Thanks!
There are a few random thingys like this floating out in the pond. They are branches from the trees in the water.
I just love my knee-high boots & my knives! When I go out, I always wear these and my knife!
It was such a beautiful day!
The cloud formations were just amazing!
This was a bird that sat on a branch on the tree I was lying underneath.
Found half a dozen geese feathers that I took home to use in craft projects.
If anyone knows what kind of bird this is, please leave a comment for me below. I would love to know!
I was wishing that I had a nice camera with a telephoto lense, like the one I put on our wedding registry.
Some berries that were on the ground next to me. I am not sure what they are.
Here is the image edited, and using the same camera specs.
This is the original image, unedited, and I put the camera specs on here for reference.
At this point, I started walking around the pond towards to ‘cove’ to see what was going on there.
The path down to the cove.
A random hole.
Mushrooms are so kool to photograph.
Looking across the cove towards the pond. Chris says there is a lot of carp feeding and hiding in there.
This is coming off the cove and across the way to a creek.
Saw this little creature in the water. Thinking it is some kind of salamander. And yes, I saw when I edited it there is also a water spider skidding on the water too. If anyone knows what it is, please leave a comment for me please. I woud love to know.
I tried to push them away but I didn’t want to get too close because the mother was flipping out on the other side of the cove.
They were within arms’ length, but there was these leaves in the way.
Here too, I was wishing for that telephoto lense.
I found a birds nest by the side of the cove. It was in a bunch of weeds and prickers but I managed to push through, save for a few scratches.
Blackberries will be in season by the end of the month!
I tried to hurry to get some decent shots.
I risked my life and these precious little birds and I prayed that the mama bird came back to them. I stayed far enough away to get a decent shot. I will check on them when we got back next time.
By this time, Chris had kayaked around the entire pond.
He had stopped to switch up his bait.
This is where you would begin your walk to start going around the pond.
I just love my knives!
This knife is uber sharp.
This is what it looked like before we left. It clouded right over but it did not rain.
Back at shore!
